Another "big" endorsement for Ted Wheeler
The Oregonian newspaper has endorsed Ted Wheeler for Mayor, and it’s fine by me. Here's what they said:
Wheeler also acknowledges that the city has suffered from "progressive mission creep for 25 years"
You know what? I think it's great that our city invests in our schools, invests in the arts, expands our parks, protects our streams and rivers, makes mass transit and cycling more accessible, acts locally on climate change, and helps create summer jobs for at-risk youth.
If the Oregonian's conservative editorial board doesn't share our vision for Portland, they're welcome to endorse my opponent.
Let's tally up the endorsements:
Ted Wheeler is endorsed by the Oregonian's conservative editorial board, Portland Business Alliance, and lots of corporate executives and real estate developers.
I'm endorsed by the Oregon Sierra Club, Portland Association of Teachers, Art PAC, Oregon League of Conservation Voters, and hundreds of progressive activists throughout our city.
Our differences are more apparent every day.
